Welcome to the Eyes in the Woods Projects Section. Here you will find a list of current and past projects. Olympic Elk Study For the last two years we have conducted biological check stations on the coastal side of the Olympic Mountains. The extent of information that we have helped to gather has not been gathered by the WDFW since 1980, due to funding and staff restrictions. Blacktail Deer Mortality Study Last year, Eyes in the Woods volunteers set up two check stations in the Vail Tree Farm to help with a deer mortality study. This is a very busy location, over 1000 deer hunters and many deer pass through it daily.
